Gerry Fagoaga Marriage and Family Therapist South Pasadena
Gerry understands that you are looking for an alternative to a destructive court battle in getting a divorce; that you want to be in control of what happens to your future financial resources, and your children, if any, instead of the court. She also realizes that you are looking to be treated with respect and dignity throughout the divorce process. Gerry can help you to avoid court, take charge of obtaining a financial settlement that's fair and equitable, maintain a good relationship with your children during and after the divorce, and preserve your integrity and values throughout the divorce process.
Gerry has assisted over a thousand persons as an educator and therapist, and now a divorce coach and child specialist. Having experienced the trauma of divorce first hand without this alternative being available at the time, Gerry particularly empathizes with the pain involved. Gerry's compassion, insight, training and experience can guide you, can empower you throughout the divorce process, so that in the end, you can go forward with your life as emotionally whole a person as possible.
- In a divorce case recently, a couple with two young children was helped to develop a parenting plan in which the children spent adequate time with each parent. This couple was enabled to preserve their financial resources, instead of spending them on a time-consuming and costly court battle.
- In another case, a family with three teenage boys, a father who often worked long hours, and a stay-at-home mom, was guided to develop a parenting plan that addressed the diverse needs of teenagers, the father's work schedule, and the mother choosing to pursue a long-desired career. This family could have experienced a very painful and costly divorce in court, but instead experienced a divorce that appropriately addressed everyone's needs.
You too, with Gerry's assistance, can successfully experience this unique divorce process.
Gerry is a founding member of the Alliance of Divorce Professionals.

Peter Wiere Mediator Thousand Oaks
I was my first client.
After 25 years of marriage, my wife and I were on a course to divorce. We were committed to limiting the hurt, so we co-mediated our divorce and amicably parted ways. We danced together at our firstborn?s wedding!
My career started in 1970 as a financial planner, and I used these skills to help us structure the divestiture of our assets and our lives in a win-win way.
My friends were amazed at the results and asked me to help them and others even though I was an amateur. I found my passion, and in 1994 I became a full-time mediator specializing in minimizing the pain of divorce. As a professional I have successfully helped hundreds of divorcing couples to hurt less while resolving their marriage with dignity, sensitivity, and confidentiality and maintaining their self-respect.
Divorce mediation often requires outside-the-box thinking to find the best solutions to be separate, but still whole. A big challenge is to work out the roles of each parent to continue to nurture their children. Creativity is also needed to equitably divide property in a cost-effectively way so both parties keep more of their assets!
To further the cause of stress-reducing divorce, I co-founded the Coalition for Collaborative Divorce and I am a founding member of the Alliance of Divorce Professionals. I am also a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, California Dispute Resolution Council, Southern California Mediation Association, California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, as well as various chambers of commerce and networking groups.
Please contact me to see if I can be of service, or arrange a free consultation.
"To go to law, is for two persons to kindle a fire at their own cost, to warm others, and singe themselves to cinders; and because they cannot agree to what is truth and equity, they will both agree to un-plume themselves, that others may be decorated with their feathers." - Feltham
