Thank you for expressing interest in the Alliance of Divorce Professionals, a directory of professionals assisting divorcing clients. You have been selected to receive an invitation at the recommendation of one of the founding members.

Our philosophy at ADP is to assist as many individuals and couples facing divorce as possible. We are not a Collaborative Law group in the strict sense of the term, although we support Collaborative Law and Collaborative "teams". Unlike a traditional Collaborative Law group, ADP is a directory of all professionals that may be needed when one contemplates, then needs to file for divorce. We recognize that over 70 percent of the population divorcing currently does so without the use of an attorney. Most of our members will serve those clients. We also recognize that many clients need legal advice, case review, and/or representation.

However, we embrace all methods of assisting clients, which may or may not involve an attorney. We have opened our directory to litigating attorneys, understanding litigation is at times the necessary course of action. As such, members will be required to sign a Pledge for Membership (Adobe Acrobat .PDF file - 20 kb), acknowledging and respecting each other's professions.

Many of us will be working together, forming "alliances" with other members, depending on the needs of the client. For this reason, we strongly suggest you attend meetings whenever possible to create these alliances.

We intend for our website to be thorough enough so that a potential client does not have to go elsewhere for a professional or information.

We encourage you to remain a member of any other professional organizations that you currently belong to or wish to join. With this in mind, the annual fee is kept to $150.00, making ADP affordable to do so.

This $150 membership fee will predominantly be spent on actively marketing our website, through such sources as DivorceSource, Google Ad Words, and Divorce Magazine.

The benefits of membership:

  • Increase your professional exposure on the Internet
  • Take advantage of shared marketing costs
  • Educational opportunities at annual events
  • Increase your professional referral base
  • Monthly networking luncheons held in the San Fernando Valley (initially to be held only in the Valley)
If you still have questions, telephone any of our founding members. Otherwise print the Application (Adobe Acrobat .PDF file - 25 kb), complete and mail to our membership chair, Lynn Comley.

If you don't have the Adobe Acrobat Reader, get it here for free!

Disclaimer: The members of ADP are all independent businesses. We are not in business with each other, unless specifically noted as such. We are each responsible only for the services we individually provide, and we do not profit, supervise, or take responsibility for services provided by any other member. ADP will help you obtain a better or good, uncontested, mediated, collaborative, no court divorce using a legal document assistant [LDA], or mediation with a mediator, or a collaborative divorce using collaborative law with a collaborative attorney or lawyer, resulting in a marital settlement agreement [MSA], memorandum of understanding [MOU], and filing all the necessary legal forms, such as asset and liability and income and expenses financial disclosure forms, as well as a qualified domestic relations order aka QDRO. Your divorce will include all separate, community & quasi community property, debts, financial disclosure forms, retirement plans, 401k plans, pension plans, as well as spousal support, alimony and child support. There will be a custody agreement that might be sole, joint and primary and include move-away issues, as well as a parenting and/or co-parenting plan, and could include pet custody, time-share or visitation schedule. This process is good for co-habitation agreements, as well as civil union, gay & lesbian partners and/or relationships, domestic partnerships.
